Last Minute Wrapping paper

Last Minute Wrapping paper

I know how it is.  You meant to get to the store early.  You meant to pick out the prettiest wrapping paper and a few bows.  But, it’s Christmas Eve, and all the wrapping has been picked over.  All that’s left is the tacky, easy to rip, and overpriced wrapping (but isn’t it really all overpriced?).  Well, I have a solution for you: use craft paper and washi tape!  You can pick it up over by the packing supplies for ~$5 30 feet of paper.  Target carries washi tape, so you can get it all in one place.

If you don’t want to buy craft paper (or don’t have any on hand), you can always use left over paper bags.  I wrapped with my husband: I did the wrapping, he did the washi tape.

For the bows, I used Lia Grifith’s printable paper bows and some craft paper I had on hand.  If you don’t have any craft paper, take a cue from Jessica on Cutesy Crafts and color in some white paper (or have your child help).

You may have noticed my awesome tags!  Those came from the tag swap I participated in.  The two you see here are by Lauren from the Thinking Closet (Peace on Earth tag) and Meredith on What’s Next Ma (the snowman).  To see more, head over to the Chicken Scratch NY roundup of tag tutorials.

Good luck with your last minute wrapping, and have a great holiday!
