From Europe, With Love

From Europe, With Love

I hinted in the last few posts that I had a project up my sleeve for you guys while I’ll be traveling. I’m excited because I can finally share the details with you! Ready to see what it is?!

From Europe, With Love is a project I’m putting together where I mail you post cards from the other side of the globe.  Or perhaps I’ll be in your neck of the woods and it will get to you faster!  Hopefully if you’re a regular reader, you already know that I’ll be in Europe for the next 10 weeks.  If not, you can read more about it here.  I love writing postcards when I’m overseas, and so I thought I’d extend that tradition to include you, my readers!

You see, writing post cards is one of the things that helps me feel connected to home when I’m gone.  Plus, this gives me a chance to share a bit of myself with you!  Then, when I get back, I’ll share photos of the post cards and the messages I sent with them (sans any personal information) so that everyone can see how my trip progressed via postcards after it’s all over.  Of course, I’ll be trying to keep in touch here along the way as well, but I think this will be a really great way to look back once it’s all over. Sound interesting?  I hope so!

So, how does this work exactly?  Well, it’s pretty simple actually. You choose one of the two options below and pay via paypal.  While I would love to send every one of you a postcard with no strings attached, I am asking for a small amount of money to help cover the cost of overseas postage.  I hope that you’ll understand.  I’m travelling from October 5th through December 10th.  I’ll leave the options available until December 1st to make sure I’ve got enough time to finish the remaining ones during my last week in Europe.  Of course, given the time it takes post to travel over the Atlantic, it is possible that you might receive your post card after I return.

Just the Post Card – $3

  • For this option, you’ll get a handwritten post card sent to your address with a unique message from me just for you.
  • I’ll give you a bit of personal insight that I learn along the way about travel and self discovery.
  • If you would like, you can state your preference of having the postcard sent from Germany, Austria, Hungary, or Croatia through Paypal, and I will honor it if possible.  Since you can sign up until Dec 1st, I might have already left that particular country by the time I receive the request, so please keep that in mind.
  • Your post card will be sent to you sometime between October 5th and December 10th.

Post Card + Instagram Explorer – $6

  • Just like above, you’ll get your very own handwritten post card just for you, from me.
  • Of course, you’ll also get your own unique bit of personal insight.
  • You’ll also get a personal Instagram picture from me with your postcard!  Maybe I’ll be writing your post card while I’m out to lunch.  And who can resist afternoon tea in Budapest?  Not me!  Or maybe I’ll be spending the day visiting a castle.  Who knows?!  Well, you will!  If you have an Instagram account, leave your handle in the “Any Special Requests?” box and I’ll tag you.  If not, I’ll send you an email with a link to the post so that you’ll be sure to see it.

To add a country request or your Instagram information, click on the “Add” button after “Any Special Requests?” just below your address.

Post Card Option

And just because I like you all so much, I’ll be gifting a set of 4 handmade embossed leather coasters to one random post card recipient upon my return.  I love this travel themed set, and think it’s the perfect companion to this project.

Don’t forget!  When it’s all said and done, I’ll be sharing pictures of the post cards I sent along with their written text as a travelogue here!  We all win with this one.  I will wait until January to share the travelogue in order to give the best possible odds of the recipients having received their postcards.  Plus, that will give me some time to come home, decompress, and reflect on the trip.

I hope you’ll join me in this post card adventure, and I can’t wait catch up with you again when I’m over in Europe.
